Phasmophobia has added a brand new ghost type with its latest patch, introducing the Deildegast as the third new ghost added to the game in 2026.
It comes alongside the new 13 Willow Street map rework. Here is everything we know about it so far.
The Deildegast is described as a ghost focused on fixating on things that have been misplaced. That description gives you a clue about how it behaves and how to draw it out during an investigation.
Its strength is that it often has the upper hand at the start of an investigation, suggesting it is more aggressive or more active in the early stages before you have had a chance to gather much evidence.
Its weakness reads that it can be slowed down by both the living and the dead, which is an unusual one. There’s also some evidence to suggest that moving objects around while it’s hunting can upset the ghosts movement speed. Again, players not being chased and dead allies have a chance to be useful. It seems like for every unique item thrown, it gets slower. The next hunt, it will be back to its base movement speed, where you’ll once again need to throw items.
It also appears to be capable of hiding for longer than most ghost types, with the implication being that you will need to move items around to disturb it and provoke activity. So if things seem quiet, try repositioning objects in the area to see if that draws a reaction.
It’s certainly handy for its unique evidence, especially on harder difficulties where it can hide one piece of evidence.
You can use that behavior alongside looking for the following evidence:

It’s to help players find the new ghost, especially with the ghost roster getting rather stacked now. This increased chance should let players interact with it more, and learn what exactly it is capable of.
