You can find out the participating cinemas near you, with tickets going on sale July 14, right here.
the film is set to follow Tommy, who receives a phone call inviting his band to open for Green Day on New Years Eve without him realising it’s a prank by his older brother, Wayne. Regardless, Tommy takes on a roadtrip from Kansas City to Los Angeles to live out his dreams, the sort of dream that countless bands have had before his.
One of those bands being Green Day themselves, who, of course, make a star appearance and are producers.
The film also starts Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman, Ryan Foust, Mckenna Grace, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Fred Armisen, Bobby Lee, Jolene, Keen Ruffalo, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio and Sean Gunn, so it is a star-studded affair.
Kymberli Frueh, EVP, Programming and Content Acquisitions Trafalgar Releasing, said “NIMRODS is a celebration of friendship, music and chasing the seemingly impossible dream. The film is inspired by the energy and attitude that defined a generation who witnessed Green Day’s meteoric rise to the top. It’s a testament to the band’s enduring cultural impact that continues to attract new fans today.”
Whilst Ryan Kroft, Head of Film & Television, Live Nation Studio, added:
“At Live Nation Studios, we’re passionate about telling stories inspired by the artists and music that shape culture. NIMRODS comedically captures the infectious energy and ambitious spirit that launched Green Day’s remarkable journey. We hope Green Day fans come to cinemas around the world to experience this film and sing-a-long to its incredible soundtrack together.”
