The Power universe has become larger than anyone could have anticipated, with the latest episode of Raising Kanan season 5 teeing up yet another entry in the franchise.
This prequel charts Kanan's transformation from an ambitious teenager (as played by Mekai Curtis) to the ruthless character originated by Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson in the original series.
Raising Kanan is winding down with its fifth season, following the conclusion of fellow spin-offs Book II: Ghost and Book IV: Force, but the saga will continue.
Indeed, this week's episode sees recently introduced character Tiana (Asjha Cooper) reveal that her real name is actually Jarita, making her the future mother of Kanan's child, according to established Power canon.
Variety has confirmed that Cooper will reprise her role, alongside Curtis, in the upcoming Power: Origins, another prequel set not long after Raising Kanan, which follows a young James St Patrick and Tommy Egan.
The connection will be particularly rewarding to those fans who have stuck around since the beginning, and delved into each gripping spin-off in the sprawling franchise.

When will Power Book III: Raising Kanan season 5 episode 5 be released?Power Book III: Raising Kanan season 5 episode 5 is expected to be released in the UK on Saturday 11 July 2026 on MGM+ via Prime Video.
In the US, episode 5 will arrive first on Friday 10 July 2026 on STARZ.
New episodes are being released weekly, with the US getting episodes on Fridays and the UK getting them one day later on Saturdays.
In the US, new episodes are available on the STARZ app from 12am ET, which is 5am BST in the UK.
However, UK viewers watching through MGM+ via Prime Video get the episodes via the official UK release, which follows on Saturdays (more on that below).

Yes, Power Book III: Raising Kanan season 5 is the final season of the spin-off.
The series was renewed for a fifth season in March 2024, before STARZ later confirmed that the fifth run would bring Raising Kanan to a close.
However, the Power universe is far from over. The franchise is set to continue with further spin-offs, including Power: Origins, which will explore the early years of Ghost and Tommy and is expected to build on the prequel era established in Raising Kanan.
That means season 5 is expected to bring Kanan's origin story closer to the version of the character fans already know from Power, while also setting the stage for what could come next.
What is Power Book III: Raising Kanan season 5 about?Season 5 sees Kanan fully stepping out from Raq's shadow and embracing the person he believes he needs to become.
After years of betrayal, manipulation and family secrets, Kanan's relationship with his mother has reached breaking point. The season 4 finale left viewers wondering whether Raq had survived, but season 5 confirms that she is still very much in play – and that the bond between mother and son may now be beyond repair.
Kanan is also working alongside Breeze, whose arrival is a major moment for long-time Power fans. Breeze has long been part of the franchise's backstory, and his introduction marks a key step in Kanan's journey towards becoming one of the most feared names in the Power universe.
Elsewhere, Unique is fighting to protect his own legacy, while the Thomas family’s grip on power is under threat and organised crime figures are circling.
In other words, Raising Kanan looks set to go out with a war.
