Halfbike has launched Halfbike Pro, its most advanced model to date and the new flagship in the Halfbike lineup. Ten years in the making, the full-body sport tool reimagines the conventional bicycle through a compact, three-wheeled design that invites riders into a more active form of movement. Developed in Sofia, Bulgaria, the latest iteration builds on the original Halfbike concept with a redesigned frame, updated geometry, and refined ergonomics aimed at delivering a smoother and more responsive ride.
Without a saddle, riders propel and steer the vehicle by standing upright and shifting their body weight through each turn. The movement combines elements of cycling, running, and skiing while engaging the legs, core, arms, and balance simultaneously. Rather than isolating movement to pedaling alone, the design encourages full-body coordination, transforming everyday travel into a physically engaging riding experience.

The latest model builds on more than a decade of development with a comprehensive redesign focused on stability, responsiveness, and rider comfort. Halfbike Pro introduces an entirely new frame geometry, a larger 20-inch front wheel, a V-shaped handlebar, refined frame stiffness, and a longer wheelbase.
Together, these updates create a smoother and more predictable ride while improving control over longer distances. The larger front wheel lowers rolling resistance and enhances stability, while the revised riding position feels more upright and intuitive. Increased frame stiffness delivers more direct feedback from the road, making steering feel sharper without compromising comfort.
‘For ten years, we kept coming back to the same question: how do you take that feeling further?’ says Martin Angelov, inventor of Halfbike. ‘Every change in the Pro—the geometry, the wheel, the handlebar—was made in service of that. We built it for riders who want the most from their time outside. It offers more stability, more control, more confidence, and a more direct connection with the road.’

Rather than replacing the existing Halfbike, the new Pro model expands the lineup as its premium, performance-oriented counterpart. The original model remains in production, while Halfbike Pro serves as the flagship option for riders seeking a more refined riding experience.
Despite its performance-focused redesign, Halfbike Pro remains highly portable. The frame folds flat in seconds, allowing it to be stored easily at home, in an office, or transported by car or public transit. The model is available in two premium finishes—Aura and Stealth.

Founded in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 2014, Halfbike has grown from an experimental mobility concept into a globally recognized design brand. The company has completed three successful Kickstarter campaigns, including its landmark 2015 launch, which raised more than $1 million and became the most-funded vehicle project on the platform at the time. The original Halfbike has since received both the Red Dot Design Award and the BIG SEE Product Design Award.
Every Halfbike continues to be designed, engineered, and hand-built in the company’s workshop in Sofia. While proprietary components are developed in-house, premium parts are sourced from established bicycle manufacturers including Sturmey Archer, Look, Herrmans, and Lasco. Produced by Sofia-based Kolelinia Ltd., Halfbike continues to explore new forms of human-powered mobility, combining balance, coordination, and full-body movement within a compact standing-bike format.
