Things to do in Dublin this weekend (June 12-14)
From celebrating the work of literary great James Joyce to the lyrics of pop icon Taylor Swift, there is plenty happening across Dublin this weekend.
Taste of Dublin
Dublin's biggest food and drink festival is set to return to Merrion Square from 11-14 June. This year's mouth-watering lineup includes The Salty Buoy, Daata, Achara, Chimac x Sicín Sásta, The Salt Project, BIG FAN, Shaku Maku, King Sitric Oyster Bar, and more. There will also be live cooking demonstrations, live music, social areas, and much more.
Singles Comedy Night
The Black Sheep on Capel Street is hosting a comedy night for singles. Yes, it's a singles night. No, it’s not speed dating. There’s no pressure, no forced interaction, and no being dragged on stage. Sit back and enjoy the show, and you might just chat to someone nice during the break. The show is for those 18 and over.
Pints & Pigtails
Pints & Pigtails is a 90-minute workshop where dads (and father figures) can learn the basics of doing their children's hair. Taking place at The Circular in Rialto at 2pm on Sunday, 14 June, the workshop will cover simple braids, detangling without tears, and ponytails that will actually stay in place.
Diary of a Dublin Drag Diva
Join Drag Legend Davina Devine on a glitter-soaked, high-heeled rollercoaster through her life and legacy. With razor-sharp wit, outrageous stories, and a whole lot of heart, Davina takes audiences behind the lashes and into her world, from the club to the main stage. The show is for those aged 18 and over, and takes place in Smock Alley Theatre on 12 and 13 June.
Bloomsday Festival 2026
Ahead of Bloomsday (16 June), there are a heap of events happening across the city, celebrating the work of James Joyce and the character of Leopold Bloom. On Sunday, 14 June, at 11am, The James Joyce Centre is hosting a Bloomsday Festival children's event of fun, mischief, and Joyce! Author and illustrator Úna Woods will read from her new children's book A Blooming Great Day, and lead a drawing workshop. The children will draw scenes from the book and design their own hats!
Queer Spectrum Film Festival 2026
From 12-14 June, the IFI will welcome the third edition of the Queer Spectrum Film Festival (QSFF) – a vibrant celebration of queer stories in motion. This year’s theme is Tender Migrations: Queer Journeys Through Desire, Transition, and Healing.
