Decision due today on Ireland's home fixture with Israel
The FAI is expected to reach a decision in relation to the Republic of Ireland's UEFA Nations League fixtures with Israel this week, with a board meeting to be held this afternoon.
The FAI board of directors held a meeting on Friday to discuss the matches, with particular focus on the game at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on 4 October.
There was an expectation within Government circles that an announcement would come later today, with a growing belief the Dublin game could be moved outside of Ireland, with Hungary one likely destination.
However that announcement is not now expected until after the women's team's World Cup qualifier against France on Tuesday.
It's understood the FAI has been in direct contact with the Minister for Communications and Sport Patrick O'Donovan but the specifics of the announcement are not yet known.
The board of the FAI is expected to meet this afternoon and while the matter is set to be reviewed, the focus of the association is on supporting Carla Ward's team as they bid for World Cup qualification with their game against France tomorrow in Grenoble.
The Coalition leaders, meanwhile, are to meet this evening to discuss their stance on the games ahead of two Dáil motions this week.
Sinn Féin and the Social Democrats are using their Dáil time to call on the Coalition to boycott and not support the fixtures.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has consistently said the matter is an issue for football's governing bodies.
However, the Irish manager Heimir Hallgrimsson says a decision about the fixtures should be left with the Government.
