Katie Taylor stuns GAA team by delivering pre-match team talk

Members of a camogie team were left stunned when Katie Taylor entered their dressing room to deliver a motivational message before a game. The legendary boxer headed to Nowlan Park on Saturday afternoon to chat to the Offaly camogie team ahead of their clash with Kilkenny in the All-Ireland Camogie Championship.Kilkenny went on to win the game, but Katie had all bases covered mind, as she also spent time with the Cats pregame, and was spotted wearing a Kilkenny jersey after the win.It has been an incredibly busy weekend for Taylor, who on Friday confirmed that she would be facing Flora Pilli of France in her retirement bout at Croke Park in September."This seems like the perfect way to end it - by becoming Undisputed Champion again in our national stadium which has such a special place in Irish hearts," said Taylor on the fight being announced. "I'm so grateful that it's happening and I can't thank the people of this country enough for the support I have received over the years.“People have travelled all around the world to follow my career and I'm hoping I can repay some of that with a big performance on September 5. I'm under no illusions that Flora will present a very tough challenge, she's undefeated as a professional and has a good amateur pedigree so I have the utmost respect for her.“I've been blessed to achieve more than I could ever have dreamed in this sport but fighting at Croke Park really is the icing on the cake. I hope it's the kind of event that will inspire a whole new generation to take up sport and follow their passions - that for me would be the greatest legacy I could leave."She then headed to Nowlan Park for the aforementioned Camogie Championship clash on Saturday afternoon, before spinning up to Croke Park, where she was treated to a great ovation from fans at half-time in the Leinster Senior Hurling final between Dublin and eventual winners Galway.Click here to sign up to our sport newsletter, bringing you the top stories and biggest headlines from Ireland and beyond
