City centre roadworks disrupting multiple Dublin Bus routes for days
A number of Dublin Bus routes will have temporary stop closures over the coming days.Dublin City Centre bus passengers should be aware of several temporary overnight stop closures due to upcoming roadworks. The roadworks will be underway from Monday June 8 until Thursday June 11.These disruptions will take place each night from 7:30pm until 5:00am. On Monday, June 8, stop 1934 on Dame Street and stop 7581 on College Green in Temple Bar will be out of service, though a temporary bus stop will be set up just outside the work zone.The following night, Tuesday, June 9, stop 7586 at the National Gallery will close, and passengers should use stop 793 on Dawson Street instead.On Wednesday, June 10, stop 908 at Grand Parade will be unavailable, meaning passengers will need to head to stop 907 on Dartmouth Road in Ranelagh.Finally, on Thursday, June 11, stop 2310 on Werburgh Street will be closed, and the nearest alternative will be stop 2311 on Kevin Street.There will be a number of diversions on Sunday, June 14, 2026 due to the Little Blue Hero's Charity Event on College Green. During this timeframe, Route 13 heading towards Grange Castle will run its normal route to D'Olier Street before diverting via Aston Quay, Essex Quay, Winetavern Street, and High Street. When traveling towards Mountjoy Square, Route 13 will divert from High Street onto Winetavern Street, Ormond Quay, Bachelors Walk, and O'Connell Street before resuming its regular line.A large group of routes including 14, 15/a/b, 16, 65/b, 68, 80, and 122 will also face changes. Outbound services towards destinations like Dundrum, Ballycullen Road, and Blessington will run normally to D'Olier Street, then divert via Aston Quay, Essex Quay, Winetavern Street, Lord Edward Street, and George's Street. Inbound services on these same routes heading towards Ardlea Road, Clongriffin, or Dublin Airport will divert from George's Street via Lord Edward Street, Winetavern Street, Ormond Quay, and Bachelor's Walk.Similarly, Routes 27, 56a, 74, 150, and 151 will see disruptions. Outbound buses heading towards locations like Jobstown, Tallaght, and Foxborough will divert from D'Olier Street via Aston Quay, Essex Quay, Christchurch Place, and Werburgh Street. Inbound services traveling towards Clarehall, Eden Quay, and the Docklands will divert from Werburgh Street via Winetavern Street, Ormond Quay, Bachelor's Walk, and Eden Quay.A significant number of bus stops will be closed throughout the event, requiring passengers to use alternative locations. Hawkins Street (stop 4495) will act as a major alternative hub, serving passengers for Routes 15, 27, 68, 122, 150, and 151 who would normally use stops 4522, 1278, 1279, or 7581.D'Olier Street will also handle displaced traffic, with stop 335 taking over Route 13 from stop 4521, and stop 336 serving Routes 14, 16, and 80 in place of stops 1279 and 7581. Other specific options include Route 65/b moving to stop 7564 on Poolbeg Street, and Route 77a and Routes 15a/b redirecting to stop 400 on Shaw Street.Further down the lines, stop 1358 will close, redirecting Route 27 to Eden Quay (stop 298), Route 68 to George's Street (stop 1357), Routes 56a and 77a to Townsend Street (stop 340), and Route 150 to St. Patrick's Cathedral (stop 2383).Nearby, stop 7582 will be unavailable, sending Route 14 to Eden Quay (stop 297) and Routes 15/a/b to George's Street (stop 7578). For those who usually use stop 1359, Route 13 will move to High Street (stop 2001), while Routes 16, 80, and 122 will divert to George's Street (stop 1357).Finally, several city centre stops will be bypassed completely by certain services. Stop 1934 will not be served at all, meaning Routes 27, 56a, 77a, 150, and 151 will use stop 2310 on Werburgh Street instead.
