Robert Wyland has decided to sue FIFA as well as the companies managed the building that hosted his mural. The North Texas FIFA World Cup Organising Committee announced earlier May that the mural replaced was to ‘celebrate and build excitement for the upcoming World Cup 2026.’ Since the backlash, the committee declined comment and a FIFA spokesman stated ‘FIFA has no involvement in this whatsoever and refers all inquiries on this matter to the host city committee.’
