Luke Littler delivers emotional message to his girlfriend
Luke Littler has paid tribute to his family and girlfriend for helping him navigate "one of the toughest tests" of his career. The teenager defeated Luke Humphries in Thursday night's final to secure his second Premier League title, before becoming visibly emotional. The 19-year-old prevailed in a nail-biting deciding leg, winning 11-10 to join Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson as a multiple champion of the tournament. His performance was exceptional, averaging 111.67 and hitting 12 maximums in a brilliant final against Humphries to claim the silverware and £350,000 in prize money. However, Littler's Premier League journey had been far from straightforward, with the world No.1 facing hostile crowds at times following an incident with Gian van Veen in Manchester. The experience weighed heavily on him throughout the 17-week campaign, and his emotions spilled over after he sealed victory with double top.During his on-stage interview, Littler disclosed that he had confided in his girlfriend Faith Millar about wanting to walk away from the competition due to the hostile reception. After gaining revenge for his 2025 final loss to Humphries, he expressed gratitude to his family and inner circle.Taking to Instagram, Littler wrote: "This Premier League has been one of the toughest tests for me and wouldn't have this without everyone by my side. Can't thank you all enough for that. We did it.", reports the Mirror. In a follow-up video message, he said: "Hi everyone, what a journey its been throughout the 17 weeks of the Premier League. We've come out victorious once again. I've got the trophy back."A lot of emotions there, but I'm just so happy with the win, the family being there week in, week out, the sponsors being there week in, week out. Time to celebrate and thank everyone for all your support throughout the year and may it continue. I'll see you all next week in Copenhagen."Millar took to Instagram to share footage of Littler's entourage, including Angry Ginge, belting out John Denver's 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' at a luxurious hotel bar during the early morning hours following his victory. In another post - a photograph capturing them sharing a kiss before Littler took to the stage - Millar penned: "So proud of you always and forever. I love you so, so much."During his emotional on-stage interview, Littler reflected: "It was a rollercoaster first four weeks, bottom of the table, but then the fifth night I won my first night. I had to pick myself up, some tough times."I think I had a 79 average in Brighton or something like that and it was tough. But I am here with the trophy."Becoming visibly emotional, he continued: "After Brighton and the incident in Manchester, I was sat at home saying to Faith: 'I don't want to do it anymore, just the crowd every week'. "I said to her: 'I'm down bad'.''Click here to sign up to our sport newsletter, bringing you the top stories and biggest headlines from Ireland and beyond.
