Taking a musical journey around the world

KOSMOS will be taking the audience on a musical journey round the world in 80 minutes when they perform in Leamington on May 20. The trio – two string players and a virtuoso on the accordion – will be taking in klezmer and gypsy music, tangos, pieces from many many different countries, with the Balkans and Mediterranean to the fore, and some inspiration from classical composers for good measure, when they play the Royal Spa Centre Studi0. The Kosmos line-up consists of Harriet Mackenzie on violin, Meg Hamilton on viola, plus Serbian accordion player Miloš Milivojevic. Earlier in the day, the musicians will give a special concert to children in Castle Hill Baptist Church in Warwick for local children as part of the Leamington Music Education & Community Programme, which will also be live-streamed to nearly 10,000 children in schools across Warwickshire, Coventry, and Solihull. There are three summer concerts from Leamington Music. Visit www.leamingtonmusic.org for full details.
