The Kid LAROI in awe of Kanye West: 'He inspired me in big way'
Kid Laroi raves about Kanye West
If you put his antics aside, Kanye West has inspired many artists throughout his storied career. The Kid LAROI is one of them.
A breakout singer, who is best known for Stay, added the Donda hitmaker among the stars who have him on Mount Rushmore, crediting him for shaping his career.
"If we're talking about influence, people who inspire me… Kanye, Tupac, MJ, Oasis, Babyface, and Wayne," he told Carter Gregory in an interview.
However, not all are fans of Ye, it seems.
Jon Stewart and Seth Rogen, both titans in the comic genre, took potshots at Ye for his fresh comeback attempt.
In his Seth Goes Greek show, The Studio star blasted the Grammy winner, pointing out his past anti-Semitic scandals and wondering how he could still bounce back.
“He had a song called ‘Heil Hitler,’ and he’s back,” he added, referring to West's recent appearance at Dave Chappelle's show.
Rogen even joked that he faced more criticism for commenting on the Jewish community—the comic said he "fed a huge amount of lies about Israel" in 2020—than Ye ever did.
“What’s funny is I’ve said critical things about Jewish people; I think I got in more trouble than Kanye West did.”
Then, Stewart stepped in.
“But seriously, f*** that guy,” he said, adding, “He was like, ‘Hitler was misunderstood; we’ve got to forgive Hitler.’”
West has been under fire for years for his antisemitic remarks. However, in the past few months, he has apologized for his comments, blaming mental health challenges for his behavior.
