Representing Britain at Venice Biennale ‘is a big deal’ – Lubaina Himid
The Venice Biennale has started its previews but before doors even opened, it’s been dogged by controversy. The entire jury resigned in protest at the inclusion of artists from Russia and Israel.
Despite the turmoil, the British pavilion is going ahead and is represented by Turner prize-winning painter Lubaina Himid. We were given this exclusive preview of her work before her installation was shipped to Italy and before the jury resigned.
