US says Iran ceasefire still holds despite Hormuz clashes
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have warned vessels to use their corridors in the Strait of Hormuz or they will face what they said would be a “decisive response”.
The US defence secretary has said that the ceasefire with Iran is ‘not over’ and President Trump described yesterday’s exchange of fire and America’s attempt to break through the Iranian blockade on the Strait as ‘skirmishes’.
As we report this story, the blockades are not only damaging world trade but threatening to cause food shortages in the world’s poorest countries.
