Warning for students as CAO Change of Mind opens
The CAO Change of Mind opened this afternoon, Tuesday, May 5, with potential college students granted a chance to amend their course choices.
It comes following the late applications closure last week.
The CAO standard application closed on February 1, while the late application window opened on March 5.

Students applying to CAO paid a €50 fee to submit their options.
Prospective college students submitted their Level 8 and Level 6/7 choices in the one appliction.
Now, students have until July 1 to amend their choices, and can do so multiple times before the CAO closes.

Amending your choices is straight forward, and can be done by logging into you CAO account.
Students must then select ‘My Application’ where they will get the opportunity to enter additional courses.
Removing courses, and re-ordering them can be done so, also.

The most important thing to remember is to put your course choices in order of preference.
Students can change their course choices, free of charge, from now until 5.15pm on Friday, July 1, 2026.
An earlier time frame for Change of Mind was available from February 5 and March 1 at a cost of €10.
Post-Leaving Certificate (PLC) courses are not done via the CAO, but applied for directly via the individual college.
