Brian Dowling issues appeal to online trolls

Brian Dowling has issued an appeal to anyone who has ever left a negative comment about him online. The TV presenter, who found fame on Big Brother, has been previously vocal about cruel comments he has been subject to over the years. Brian is married to Dancing with the Stars judge Arthur Gourounlian. The pair share two daughters, Blake and Blu. He said: ‘Okay, I’ve spoken before about being subjected to some negative and really, really personal comments online about myself and my family over the years. ‘I really want to understand why people do this so I’m asking anyone who has written anything negative about me to come and meet me and let’s have a conversation face-to-face.’ Pic: Instagram/Brian Dowling He clarified that he would be interested in speaking to people that had engaged with content on gossip sites such as Tattle Life, also. ‘This isn’t about naming and shaming, I really want to sit down and have an open, and a very honest conversation,’ he pleaded. ‘If you are interested in sitting down with me, either comment below or send me a DM [direct mail]. Thank you so much.’ The video appeal got a mixed reaction, with Brian’s husband Arthur writing: ‘Well, I’m getting my popcorn ready. This is going to be very interesting. COME ON’, while others urged Brian not to bother. Singer and actor Keith Duffy said: ‘Brian you’re f**king gorgeous, Don’t give the haters time. You’re too precious and beautiful to waste time on negative toxic people. ‘You’ve a beautiful family and amazing friends spend your time with them.’ Pic: Arthur Gourounlian/ Instagram Another advised: ‘Brian, they will never meet you, they are trolls, keyboard warriors, jealous, lonely people. You are a beautiful family that lights up our lives.’ Brian and Arthur have both been open about negative comments their family received. Despite the horrible comments they are often subject to, they defy the haters and continue to share glimpses inside their life as dads. Some critics say the girls shouldn’t be put online, however Brian last year confirmed they weren’t taking them offline as of yet. Speaking to Extra.ie at the time, Brian said: ‘There may be a time when Blake gets a little bit older and she doesn’t want to be on social anymore and then that’s something that will happen. ‘But at the moment, I’ve no regrets with sharing them, because I think the messages that we get of love and support outweigh anything.’
