Body of woman discovered at Wexford town house
The body of a woman in her 40s was removed from a house in the heart of Wexford town on Friday afternoon.An Garda Síochána and The National Ambulance Service attended the scene on King Street at around 3.30 p.m., where they discovered the woman unresponsive. She was declared dead at the scene.Gardaí immediately cordoned off the house and a full examination of the scene was carried out, while the woman’s body was taken to University Hospital Waterford where a full post mortem examination is to be carried out.Early indications from within An Garda Síochána are that foul play is not suspected at this time.Despite this, a garda presence continued on the Wexford town street into the evening, with a garda patrol car parked yards from the front door where the woman’s remains were discovered.King Street, Wexford town.In a statement, An Garda Síochána confirmed that a female had been “found deceased in a domestic residence in Wexford town”."A post mortem examination is due to take place on Saturday, which will determine the course of the garda investigation,” it concluded.News in 90 Seconds - May 2nd 2026
