UK giant TV manufacturer collapses into administration – in business since 2010
A British TV manufacturer has filed for administration after 16 years in business. The LED Studio Ltd appointed insolvency firm Opus Restructuring LLP to act on behalf of the business on April 20, as filed on the public record The Gazette today.Operating from Hampshire International Business Park in Basingstoke, the UK-owned manufacturer created extra-large LED screens for commercial projects, including in retail spaces, stadiums, and public areas. According to its website, after being founded in 2010 by Robert Bint, LED Studio emerged as a global LED brand by 2019, "known as the industry's best-kept secret".While keeping its head office in the UK, with Europe's largest dedicated LED display showroom, it had expanded into offices and showrooms in the US, Cyprus, and Dubai. However, now Andrew Watling and Michael Ian Field of Opus Restructuring will act on behalf of the business as it undergoes the administration process. It is unclear why administrators have been appointed at this stage, but businesses usually do this when they are no longer financially viable. It gives the business breathing room when no legal action can be taken. The insolvency firm will take control from directors as they seek to maximise returns for creditors, either by selling off viable assets or restructuring the business.Companies can continue to operate, though it is not clear what will happen to its 15 employees, which are referenced in its latest company accounts from December 2024.These accounts do not disclose the company's turnover or profits, as the size of the business allows it to be exempt from doing so.WeFlex had specialised in providing electric cars and flexible vehicle financing for ride-hailing drivers, such as those working for Uber and Bolt. Quiver Delivery, a London and Paris-based business, provided an emission-free delivery service.
