Joe Rogan mercilessly mocked over 'politically homeless' claims
Podcaster Joe Rogan is one of the key media figures who helped Trump sail to power in the last presidential election, but lately he's become increasingly critical of the president. Rogan recently hit out at Trump for the Iran war, saying it was "insane based on what he ran on", and more recently slammed the U.S. leader as "weird" for posting his AI-Jesus picture."Rogan likes to say that he's 'politically homeless' but has had a very clear and public bias since round about COVID," said one user, "He probably had this leaning before, but it wasn't as much a part of his public persona until the vaccine arguments started happening."They added, "Rogan has been crazy critical of tonnes of Dem politicians, but so far all he's mustered about Trump is something to the effect of "this Epstein thing is a little weird, isn't it?". People are making fun of how insanely transparent his political ambiguity is."People also noted that Rogan often criticizes Democrats differently from how he criticizes Trump, making him politically biased."It's 'weird' is his get out of jail free card. When it's a democrat, he'll call them out by name and list the specific offenses. When it's Trump, 'that's so weird,'" said one person.Another pointed out the podcasters' view on Trump fans, saying, "Also, within the last month, he called MAGA a bunch of f—ing dorks, and then jumped at this chance to hang with Trump regarding hallucinogens.""One of the best descriptions of Rogan is 'a stupid person's idea of a smart person'," said someone else, "He's just barely smart enough to use the grifter's toolbox, which includes 'questioning' things as a performative act to appear balanced or objective when he is anything but."Despite his occasional negative comments about Trump, according to a new Axios report, the White House had been trying to build bridges with Rogan for several months, as one Trump aide stated Trump is in touch with him "frequently".Even though the president is notoriously bad at taking any level of criticism, he will allow Rogan to indulge in it a little because Trump knows that keeping the podcaster close still matters greatly if he wants to keep getting votes.The most pushback Rogan got from Trump during their White House visit was the U.S. leader remarking that the former Fear Factor host was "a little bit more liberal than I am."
