TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Anime Tyler returned for its second year over the weekend, featuring panels, vendors, and a place to build connections away from Texas’ major urban centers. “There’s stuff always happening in Dallas but most people don’t want to make that drive but it’s great to have it local,” said Brayden Tyler.“There’s something about smaller cons, there’s a lot more soul in these,” said Isaiah Hague, an eventgoer.Event showrunner Seth Jones said the event, held at the Holiday Inn in Tyler, is about bringing people together.“We wanted to bring the event to you guys out in East Texas,” Jones said. “That’s my passion is if I can help create a space to bring like-minded people together to where they can celebrate safety and celebrate IPs and animes they love and cherish.”Jones said over 600 people attended this year, up from around 500 last year.“I love meeting everyone and collecting their stories,” said Kimberley Bailey, a vendor.“Just having a community to talk to, common interests, it’s awesome,” Hague said.Anime Tyler is expected to return next year.Copyright 2026 KLTV.
