Man charged in Monaghan car ramming investigation

A man in his 20s has been charged in relation to the investigation into a series of violent incidents in Co Monaghan last Thursday. He is due before Trim District Court this afternoon. Two gardaí were taken to hospital after their patrol car was rammed at Tullycorbett on Thursday afternoon. A female garda remains in hospital, while her male colleague, who was also injured, was later discharged from hospital. Gardai are continuing to appeal for information regarding a dark grey Audi A6 with Northern Ireland registration plates. Anyone who saw the car in the vicinity of the R184, between Ballybay and Clontibret or surrounding roads, or any road users in the area between 11am and 2pm on 16 April, is asked to contact Monaghan Garda Station on 047 77200, the Garda Confidential Phone Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
