Major fire breaks out at award-winning hotel in Drogheda
A significant fire broke out at The Glenside Hotel in Drogheda on Monday afternoon, resulting in its closure.
The Glenside confirmed the fire on Facebook, stating that ‘everybody is safe and well’.
Emergency services have been on the scene, which is located just outside Drogheda on the Dublin Road.

The Glenside will be closed until further notice and management has said that they are working on contacting all of their bookings as soon as possible.
Footage shared on social media shows black smoke billowing into the sky as the hotel is a blaze.

It is understood that the fire broke out in recent hours and the extent of the damage done is unknown.
The hotel is a long-established, family-run business that recently took home multiple awards.
It had just been crowned Best Family Run Wedding Venue in Ireland at the Wedding Dates Awards 2026 earlier this month.
The Glenside was also awarded Silver for Best Wedding Hotel in Leinster, placing it among the top venues in the region.
