Bataan town cancels Foundation Day, redirects funds to aid drivers
ORANI, Bataan — Mayor Jon Arizapa has issued an executive order canceling the town’s annual foundation day celebration on April 17. In the order, Arizapa said funds originally allotted for the weeklong festivities will instead be used to provide subsidies to around 2,000 tricycle drivers and other members of the local transport sector affected by rising costs. He added that part of the budget will also be allocated for school supplies, bags, and tumblers for students in both public and private schools.
