Central Visayas records 16.5% decline in births
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Fewer babies were born in Central Visayas during the first 10 months of 2025, as the latest government data showed a decline in births. From January to October in 2025, Central Visayas recorded a 16.5 percent decrease in live births, based on preliminary data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). Within that span, Central Visayas registered a total of 60,777 births — a significant drop compared to the 72,797 births recorded during the same ten-month window in 2024.
