Water campaigners call for referendum amid sewage dumps and rising bills
Water campaigners have told Channel 4 News exclusively they are launching a campaign calling for a national referendum on whether to renationalise the water industry.
With anger growing over sewage spills, rising bills and bosses’ bonuses, an online petition aims to force a parliamentary debate on the issue.
Successive governments have ruled out nationalisation, because of the time and cost they say it would take.
