Funeral of Michael Lyster taking place in Dublin
The funeral ceremony for former RTÉ Sport broadcaster Michael Lyster, is taking place in Dublin.
The 71-year-old, best known for presenting The Sunday Game for over three decades, died last weekend.
Family and friends have gathered in the Victorian Chapel, in Mount Jerome in Harold's Cross for the ceremony.
Among mourners present are people he shared the TV studio with including former Cork hurler Tomás Mulcahy, Derry's Joe Brolly, and Cyril Farrell, former manager of the Galway hurling team.
Pádraic Joyce, the current Galway football manager, is also in attendance.
President Catherine Connolly is represented by her aide-de-camp.
Michael Lyster presented The Sunday Game for over three decades
Lyster joined RTÉ in 1979 and became a household name around the country for anchoring the station's GAA coverage.
He also featured in RTÉ's coverage of the Olympic Games and other major events.
He retired from The Sunday Game at the end of 2018 after presenting coverage of the All-Ireland football final.
Michael Lyster is survived by his wife Anne, and his four children Mark, Jack, Rebecca and Ellen.
