Boxing legend Ricky Hatton's cause of death confirmed
Ricky Hatton's injuries were "consistent with hanging" when he was found dead at his home in Manchester last year. A pathologist recorded a cause of death as "hanging", adding there was "no evidence to suggest suspicious circumstances" in the boxing star's death, an inquest heard. Hatton's friends and family, including his son Campbell, were pictured at Stockport coroner's court as the inquest into his death began today. Long-term friend and manager Paul Speak was also seen along with Ricky's dad Ray, brother Matthew, and ex partner Jennifer Dooley. The former world champion was discovered at his £1.7 million home in Hyde, Greater Manchester, on September 14 last year. He was 46. Paul Speak found him unresponsive at the property. A previous hearing was told Hatton had last been seen alive by family members on September 12 and had “appeared well”. He failed to attend a scheduled event the following day, MEN reports, and on the morning of September 14, Mr Speak went to the house to collect him for a trip to Manchester Airport.
