Black Family Wellness Expo to bring free health resources to Flint families
FLINT, Michigan. — The Flint Area (MI) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated will host its annual Black Family Wellness Expo on Friday, March 20, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Hamilton Community Health Network’s Main Clinic, located at 2900 N. Saginaw St.
The event is part of a continued effort to promote health equity by connecting families with accessible care, preventive services, and community-based resources.
Attendees will have access to a range of free services, including blood pressure screenings, flu and COVID-19 vaccinations, oral and behavioral health information, and safety preparedness resources. The event will also offer assistance with health insurance enrollment and registration for the Rx Kids Flint program.
Organizers say the expo is designed to serve as a one-stop opportunity for families to engage with local providers and learn more about available health services in the community.
“We are proud to partner once again with the Flint Area Links to bring this important event to our community,” said Clarence Pierce, Chief Executive Officer of Hamilton Community Health Network. “This expo gives families direct access to services and information that can make a real difference in their health. We look forward to welcoming everyone.”
In addition to health resources, the event will include giveaways such as gift cards, car seats, food boxes, and other items for attending families.
Several community and statewide organizations are expected to participate, including Rx Kids, Black K.A.R.E., Molina Healthcare, Meridian, the Flint Registry, YWCA Greater Flint, G.H.O.S.T., Mott Community College, and others.
The Flint Area Links, which has served Genesee County for more than four decades, continues to focus on expanding access to care and addressing gaps in preventive health services through events like the annual expo.
