Gemma Atkinson shares family health update after 'chaotic' weekend
Radio presenter Gemma Atkinson has shared a family health update after her two children were ill over the weekend. She shared videos and picture to Instagram as she told followers about her "chaotic" weekend.In her post, Gemma said: "Mia was sent home from school poorly on Friday of which Thiago then started on Saturday which resulted in us going to the out of hours to be told it’s tonsillitis doing the rounds in our house.The Hits radio presenter also told followers: "Of course this all happened on the night I’d planned to go for food with the girls for the first time this year and of course it had to be when Gorka was in NYC."Gemma met her fiancé Gorka Marquez Strictly Come Dancing professional in 2017 on the show. The pair confirmed their romance in 2018 and got engaged three years later in 2021. The couple welcomed their children Mia and Thiago in 2019 and 2023.After a busy weekend, The 41-year-old was finally able to wish her mum a happy Mother's Day. Gemma said: "She shows up every single day for us all and only now being a mum myself do I understand why. It's unconditional love. Every day all hours. And I’m so grateful to have the mum I have."Gemma also told followers all of the things her mum had done to help during their busy weekend including making sure the family had everything they needed, Gemma added: "Who came up first thing Sunday morning with a little shopping bag full of essentials and to see how we’d all slept? My mum."The actress and then added a further update on how both her children are feeling as she continued: "Ps. Both Mia & Thiago on the mend and according to my whoop on sat I achieved 2hrs 36min sleep so in a round about way it was kind of like a night out with the girls"Gemma recieved an outpouring of love from fans, with many sending their get well wishes to the family. One supportive fan said: "Your mum is definitely super woman Gemma, hope everyone is better soon."Fans of the former Emmerdale star also expressed their love for her mum with one person saying: "Every time I see a pic of your mum she radiates so much kindness and love Gemma. You can just tell what a beautiful human she is. I hope Mia and Thiago are better soon"While a second follower said: "I love this. What a diamond your mum is.
