Beloved soap star found dead in forest days after popping out to meet friend
A popular TV star has been found dead in woodland near her crashed car - days after she vanished. Magdalena Majtyka, 42, left home on March 4, telling relatives she was popping out to meet up with an old school pal. But concern grew when she didn't come back, triggering a frantic hunt and an official police probe. Days later, officers made a chilling find. Her deserted Opel Corsa was spotted on an isolated road heading into thick forest near Biskupice Oawskie in southern Poland.

The car appeared to have smashed into a tree and been abandoned. Just 24 hours later, Majtyka's body was found roughly 650 feet away in the woods. Officials are believed to have dismissed injuries from the collision as the cause of death, reports the Express. Detectives have also told the public that there is presently no proof of a third party being involved. Public prosecutor Damian Pownuk said additional tests are ongoing to establish what happened. He said "histological and toxicological tests" would be carried out on the actress's body. He added: "Based on these results, experts will determine the final, definitive cause of death." Majtyka's devastated husband, filmmaker Piotr Bartos, had previously made a public appeal on social media as the search continued. Her death has shocked Poland's entertainment industry and fans who had followed her career for years. The actress was widely known for her parts in long-running soap operas Na Wspólnej and Pierwsza Mio, where she had a devoted fan base and established herself as a beloved performer. Police continue to treat the case as unexplained as they await forensic results. Officers are working to reconstruct her final movements, including who she had arranged to meet and why she found herself on the remote forest road. Her death comes after another violent tragedy in the entertainment world. Singer and influencer Nancy Grewal, 45, was recently murdered in a stabbing horror in Windsor, southern Canada. Emergency services responded to reports of an assault and discovered Nancy with multiple injuries. She was rushed to hospital but died from her wounds. The prosecutor's office did not reveal whether Majtyka's husband had been interviewed yet. The police inquiry into her death continues.
