Metro Manila LGUs adopt 4-day workweek to conserve energy
MANILA, Philippines — Several local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila have started implementing four-day workweeks as part of energy-saving measures to curtail the effects of increasing fuel prices caused by escalating military conflict in the Middle East. This comes after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced a four-day workweek beginning March 9 for executive branch offices to reduce fuel consumption and the release of Memorandum Circular No. 114 encouraging LGUs to do the same.
