Local business pledges GAA support amid controversy over Allianz sponsorship

Sir, – My business has sponsored more than a few local GAA clubs in Cavan and Fermanagh over the years. Most recently we gave €2,000 towards the development of another club and were happy to do it. I have to admit I took a wobbler following the refusal of the GAA Congress to cut Allianz as a big sponsor and I seriously considered pulling back from making donations for the foreseeable future.However, my two sons started back at training last night and having witnessed them and their team-mates running, kicking and catching with the enthusiasm of mammals emerging from their caves after hibernation, I have decided to continue with our support.
