Women's matches to form double-headers for Munster ties
Camogie and women's football matches will once again be used to form double-headers ahead of matches in the men’s Munster provincial competitions this year.
Three senior camogie games and one women's football match will be played before a trio of men's fixtures over the course of April and May.
A Munster Senior Camogie Championship quarter-final between Tipperary and Cork will throw-in at 2pm at FBD Semple Stadium on Sunday 19 April ahead of a Munster Senior Hurling Championship game between the same counties.
A camogie semi-final of Tipperary v Cork will open proceedings ahead of Cork v Limerick in Supervalu Páirc Uí Chaoimh a week later.
A women’s clash of Kerry and Cork will be played before the Munster Football Championship final on 10 May, while the Munster camogie decider will take place before a round-robin match in the men’s game on 17 May. The venue will be determined at a later date.
Munster GAA chairman Tim Murphy said: "The inclusion of four curtain-raisers ahead of our Munster Senior Hurling and Football Championship games once again highlights the strong and growing partnership between our respective organisations.
"It is very pleasing to see this initiative continue into 2026, and we are committed to further strengthening the connection between our games in the years ahead."
Munster Camogie chairperson Christine Ryan said the matches offer a great help in promoting female matches: "Our players relish the opportunity to perform on Munster Championship matchdays, experiencing the unique atmosphere of packed stadiums.
"These occasions play a vital role in raising the profile of camogie and showcasing our game to an even wider audience."
Munster LGFA president Lorraine Royle also welcome the renewal of the agreement: "This continued partnership is an important acknowledgement of the talent, commitment, and growing profile of our players.
