"Rave thriller" SIRĀT to kick off new event series with film screenings and DJs
A new London event series mixing cinema and music will launch with an early screening of "rave thriller" SIRĀT followed by a jungle and drum & bass session.
Entertainment event group ElevenFiftyFive's new series 1155 Soundsystem will present the BAFTA- and Oscar-nominated film and 2025 Cannes Jury Prize winner SIRĀT this Thursday, 26th February at Rich Mix Shoreditch ahead of its UK and Irish premiere on the 27th.
Fracture, Double O and DJ Flight will soundtrack the night with a post-screening vinyl listening session and participate in a panel discussion.
Directed by Oliver Laxe, SIRĀT also won the award for best soundtrack at Cannes 2025. He cast "lifelong ravers" to star in the free party scenes set in the Moroccan desert. Laxe previously told Interview: "We organised a real rave. Everyone knew they were being filmed. The music didn't stop for days. At some point, I felt we had enough images." Spiral Tribe free party affiliate Sebastian Vaughan, aka 69db, played the film's free party.
