This inaugural event will “bring together bold voices from the industry along with film financiers, investors and brands for a day of discussion, networking and collaboration to explore new opportunities for the future of screen production emerging from the region”, organisers said.  Designed as a meeting point for creatives and capital, Mythos Manchester will feature panels, roundtables, and investor one-to-one sessions, tackling the challenges facing the sector and unlocking new partnerships and funding models.  The event aims to drive investment in talent, stories and regional production, while strengthening the North’s position as a creative powerhouse with lasting cultural and economic impact. Alongside the industry programme, Mythos Manchester will celebrate Northern and working-class cinema and television, honouring the stories that have shaped the region and inspiring the next generation of filmmakers and storytellers.  A curated selection of Northern classics will be screened as part of the event. Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham will deliver a keynote address, with the full speaker line-up to be announced in the coming weeks. Rachel McClelland, co-founder of Mythos Manchester, said: “Mythos Manchester has been created to connect the incredible creative talent in the North with the people and investment needed to bring stories to life.  “We want this to be a space where filmmakers, producers, investors and brands can come together to have honest conversations, build relationships and shape a more sustainable future for regional screen production.  “Celebrating the rich history of Northern storytelling, while opening doors for new voices, is at the heart of what we’re trying to achieve.” Mythos Manchester is also inviting filmmakers who have completed feature-length scripted or non-scripted films to express interest in screening their work as part of the event programme.
