2026 Porsche Cars Lineup: No More Mid-Engine Models?

Porsche introduced the 992.2-generation 911 for 2025 and continues to fill out the iconic sports car’s lineup with more variants. Slotting above the base Carrera, Carrera T, and Carrera S are the new 2026 Porsche Carrera 4S Coupe, Cabriolet, and Targa models, which join the 911 range with standard all-wheel drive and rear-biased Porsche Traction Management.At the top end of the 911’s model range is the latest incarnation of the legendary 2026 Porsche 911 Turbo S. This time around, the Turbo S is a hybrid powered by a 3.6-liter flat-six engine with two electric exhaust gas turbochargers developing 701 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Porsche outfits the 2026 911 Turbo S with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with an integrated motor powered by a small 1.9-kWh battery pack.The Turbo S has slightly wider tires, now measuring 325/30 ZR 21. It’s equipped with new brake pads, which Porsche says improves feel, and the rear brake discs are 20mm bigger. Porsche improves its aerodynamics with vertically stacked cooling air flaps and an active front diffuser. In the back, there’s a new rear wing that tilts for additional drag or lift. The Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control system is now electrohydraulic for faster responsiveness and reduced body roll. Finally, the front axle lift is now quicker to deploy.Some changes affect existing variants of the 992.2 Porsche 911. All models receive USB-C ports that can distribute up to 60 watts across the pair of outlets. Customers who tick the box for the Bose or Burmester sound systems now receive Dolby Atmos technology. A leather package decks out the interior with hide.Some special-edition variants join the roster, as well. There’s a Spirit 70 Heritage Design leather interior available for most 911 Carrera models.
