Jessie Buckley among star-studded acting royalty heading to the IFTAs
Oscar hopeful Jessie Buckley and Oscar-award winner Cillian Murphy are among the Irish acting royalty set to descend on the red carpet this Friday for the IFTAs.
The annual Irish Film & Television Awards take place this Friday, February 20 at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre.
The Irish Academy awards is being hosted by Kevin McGahern and see the best of Irish actors and filmmakers return for a spectacular celebration of all things Irish.

Among those already confirmed to walk the red carpet on Friday is nominee Jessie Buckley who has been sweeping up a storm for her performance in Hamnet, as well as Cillian Murphy (Stee), Steve Coogan (Saipan) and Alison Oliver (Wuthering Heights).
House of Guinness stars Anthony Boyle, Danielle Galligan, Jack Gleeson and Fionn O’Shea will also be in attendance as will former Derry Girls Louisa Harland and Jamie-Lee O’Donnell.
Other guests in attendance include filmmaking royalty Neil Jordan and Jim Sheridan, IFTA-winning actress Clare Dunne (KIN), and Amy Huberman.

Former IFTA Lifetime Achievement recipient Stephen Rea will also be in attendance as well as Ardal O’Hanlon.
Among the stars up for awards on the night are Fionnula Flanagan (Four Mothers), Cathy Belton, Aaron Monagahn and Dónall Ó’Héala (Hidden Assets), Alex Murphy and Chris Walley (The Young Offenders), Colin Farrel (Ballad of a Small Player), Paul Mescal (Hamnet), Kerry Condon (F1) and more.
Ciarán Hinds will receive the IFTA Lifetime Achievement Award surrounded by his family, friends and industry peers.
The Irish Academy Awards are funded by Screen Ireland Coimisiún na Meán. Redbreast is the Official Spirit Partner of the year, and Sculpted by Aimee is the official make-up partner.
