Ocala residents celebrate Anime-Fest
OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - Anime fans spent their Valentine’s Day celebrating their love of Japanese animation at this year’s Anime-Fest. This one-day trade show brought collectors and anime lovers together under one roof. Vendors featured everything from retro video games and trading cards to artwork, cosplay, apparel, and hard-to-find collectibles.Attendees also got the chance to meet industry guests, including voice actors from popular works like “Dragon Ball Z” and “Ed, Edd, and Eddy”. “I think for me it’s to see the capture of the moment, of happy, that they came to see their favorite voice actor, or they came to see their famous sword or the famous cosplay at the show,” said Carmine DeSanto, a promoter of the show.Organizers say they hope to make this an annual event, along with their Pokémon convention coming up on Nov. 28.
