Missing 47-year-old heavy goods vehicle driver from St Asaph found dead

Gavin Glyn Kelly, a heavy goods vehicle driver, of Heol Afan, died aged 47 on Wednesday, January 28, near Junction 27 of the A55 in St Asaph. The inquest into Mr Kelly’s death opened at County Hall, Ruthin on Monday afternoon (February 9). John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales (East and Central), said Mr Kelly had last been seen at his parents’ address. He was first reported missing on the morning of January 27. At about 8am on January 28, police received a call from an officer engaged in the search for Mr Kelly, who had found a body believed to be him. Mr Kelly was formally identified and pronounced dead shortly after. A post-mortem examination led to a provisional cause of death of neck injury being recorded. The inquest into Mr Kelly’s death was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
