Galopin Des Champs will spark incredible scenes of jubilation at Leopardstown if he can win a fourth successive Irish Gold Cup on this rearranged card.The ten-year-old, a two-time Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, is one of the most popular horses in training and returns to his favourite track aiming to equal Florida Pearl's record of four victories in the race under Paul Townend for Willie Mullins.But he faces a huge challenge from his own stable alone as the Closutton maestro runs seven rivals against him - Gaelic Warrior, Fact To File, Spindleberry, I Am Maximus, Grangeclare West, Champ Kiely and Lecky Watson.Then there is Noel Meade's Affordale Fury, who landed the Savills Chase over course and distance when beating I Am Maximus and Galopin Des Champs over Christmas, as well as last year's Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Inothewayurthinkin for Gavin Cromwell.Gordon Elliott runs two in Stellar Story and Firefox, while Henry de Bromhead is represented by Monty's Star.The Irish Gold Cup is just one of seven races on the day.
