Mickey Haller isn’t parking the Lincoln anytime soon. In the works for months now, Netflix has officially renewed The Lincoln Lawyer for a fifth season, with production due to begin imminently. The news comes just days before the highly anticipated Season 4 premiere.
Fans of the Manuel Garcia-Rulfo-led drama have plenty to celebrate today. Netflix has confirmed that the hit series will return for a fifth season, ensuring that the story continues well beyond the upcoming batch of episodes.
The early renewal signals Netflix’s immense satisfaction with the show’s performance. Since its debut, the series has been a consistent ratings performer. According to Netflix’s Engagement Reports, the prior three seasons have garnered over 1.4 billion hours watched (170.5 million views) since 2023 and have spent an impressive 26 weeks in the Netflix Global Top 10 charts across their first three seasons.
What to expect from The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5
The fifth season has received a standard order of 10 episodes, with filming scheduled to begin in March 2026 at its usual Los Angeles locations.
For those following the source material, the showrunners have confirmed exactly where the story is heading next. Season 5 will be based on Resurrection Walk, the seventh book in The Lincoln Lawyer series by renowned author Michael Connelly.
In a joint statement, Co-Showrunners and Executive Producers Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez shared their enthusiasm for the double-dose of news:
“We’re so excited to share the upcoming fourth season with the audience on February 5th, and even more excited to share the news that we’re already hard at work on the next one. Season Four is the most challenging and intensely personal journey we’ve taken Mickey Haller on yet, and we’re thrilled and grateful to be able to continue the ride in Season Five!”
As we’ve previously covered, the show has mostly adhered to the chronology of the books, although not necessarily in the correct order. Here’s how the adaptations have worked so far:
The Lincoln Lawyer (2005)
The Brass Verdict (2008) – adapted in season 1
The Reversal (2010)
The Fifth Witness (2011) – adapted in season 2
The Gods of Guilt (2013) – adapted in season 3
The Law of Innocence (2020) – confirmed to be adapted in season 4
Resurrection Walk (2023) – confirmed to be adapted in season 5
The Proving Ground (2025)
Naturally, a potential sixth season could be based on the most recent Michael Connelly book, which was released in October 2025.
