The countdown to the fight is sure to be pure entertainment, as the charismatic Fury, typically accompanied by his father, John Fury, can make any interview, weigh-in, and press conference a spectacle. Not to mention, a second season of Netflix’s documentary At Home With the Furys will be released in Spring 2026, and will likely showcase a lot of the preparation Fury has undertaken to get himself in shape for his fight with Makhmudov.
Gabe Spitzer, Vice President of Sports at Netflix, had the following to say about the upcoming fight:
“I have long admired Tyson Fury as one of the most resilient and captivating boxers of his generation. His career has been defined by beating the odds, and there is an undeniable electricity whenever he fights. We are incredibly excited to see him come out of retirement for this massive homecoming, and we love giving our members a front-row seat to the next chapter of his legacy.”
Many fans would have hoped to have seen Tyson Fury face Anthony Joshua before his retirement; however, after the tragic car accident Anthony Joshua was involved in while on holiday in Nigeria, which resulted in the deaths of his childhood friends Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, the former his rehabilitation coach and the latter his personal trainer.
