Sam Thompson recalls 'emotional' phone call he got from Jamie Laing
Sam Thompson has recalled the 'really emotional' phone call he once received from Jamie Laing, which brought them back together as friends after their huge fallout on Made In Chelsea. TV personality Sam, 33, and Jamie, 37, famously fell out on the show in 2019 when Jamie began dating his now-wife Sophie Habboo, 31, behind his back shortly after his six-month relationship with her ended in 2018. Now, discussing the turn of events on Jamie's Great Company podcast on Wednesday, Sam shared that Jamie apologised to him after completing his gruelling 150-mile Ultra Marathon challenge.Discussing their fallout on the podcast, Jamie asked Sam: 'After I finished my run, even though it's bygones be bygones, I married Sophie, you came to my wedding, I phoned you up, and what did I say to you?' Sam went on to reveal: 'You went, mate, I feel like I have never actually fully apologised to you for not being honest with you. During the podcast, Sam also revealed his reasons as to why he was annoyed with Jamie for what he did. Laughing, he said to his pal: 'You had a bit of a history for going after people's exes and people's girlfriends, you were just like that mate. 'You were young, and we've all been there, and I remember saying to you afterwards, just please don't do this one, I was like please, and then it happened.'Then I think it's because you didn't tell me, and I had to see it. I was like, dude, what the f**k, you didn't tell me, and then I was like, he's just done the one thing. Cause at that time, I was like that's not gonna last, is he gonna throw away this for that?' However, despite Jamie going behind Sam's back to date his now-wife Sophie several years ago, Sam believes that the couple were meant to be together and things 'happen for a reason'. He said: 'However, now, obviously you sit there and you go no it's why you said "you better goddamn get married" and you goddamn got married! You goddamn got married, you goddamn had a kid, and it just worked out perfectly, and I think sometimes, mate, I just think sometimes things are meant to happen.'I do think things happen for a reason, and I just think me not being on the show at that point, and you having the freedom and the space to really connect with somebody without the pressure of like one of my best mates being there. The couple shared a photo of Jamie with his arms around Sophie as she cradled their newborn.The couple are fans of Bowie and previously had a Warhol print of the late Ziggy Stardust on the wall of their old apartment.
