Bristol City in pole position to pip top European clubs for Bray Wanderers gem
Bristol City are leading the race to secure Bray Wanderers prospect Billy O'Neill.The Robins have leapt ahead of Premier League giants and elite European sides - and are poised to land the Ireland youth international on a pre-contract deal. O'Neill celebrates his 18th birthday in March, meaning he cannot transfer to a UK outfit until the summer window opens.Italian powerhouses Juventus are amongst the sides who have been monitoring the 17-year-old following his senior breakthrough at Bray. There is also competition from Lecce, Netherlands club Heerenveen, German outfit Bayer Leverkusen, French heavyweights Monaco and top-flight Brentford, who have all been long-term admirers of the striker, reports the Irish Mirror.O'Neill earned his senior debut for the League of Ireland club during a July 2023 pre-season clash against Dundee, whilst his competitive introduction arrived three months later in a 1-1 stalemate with Finn Harps, aged just 15.
