Victoria Beckham steps out with Spice Girls at Emma Bunton's 50th amid Brooklyn row
Victoria Beckham has made her first public appearance following a series of damaging claims her eldest son Brooklyn made about her on social media. The mum-of-four had kept a low profile after her son launched a scathing attack, alleging she controlled his life, attempted to sabotage his marriage and even 'took over' his wedding.Victoria has now been photographed showing resilience alongside some of her closest companions - her Spice Girls bandmates. The fashion mogul was pictured with Geri Horner, Mel C, and Emma Bunton at Emma's 50th birthday party on Saturday evening.Despite her private turmoil, Victoria showed up to support her friend after being subjected to worldwide ridicule following her son's harsh social media post.Geri shared the image on Instagram with the simple caption: "Birthday celebration."Victoria then reshared the snap on her own account, writing: "I love you so much" to her friends".The birthday celebrant Emma wore a quintessentially Baby Spice pink suit, radiating joy surrounded by her former bandmates. Geri, 53, stuck to her trademark all-white ensemble, whilst Victoria, 51, and Mel, 52, chose sophisticated nude tailored blazers.Victoria posted the photograph once more to her main Instagram feed, adding: "Happy birthday to the most beautiful soul @emmaleebunton. I love you girls so much."Victoria's heartfelt post sparked a wave of support from her adoring fans, including her husband David Beckham. He responded: "This made me happy. I can only imagine how the Spice Girls fans feel. Special night celebrating Emma."TV presenter Holly Willoughby described the group as 'so gorgeous', while Rylan Clark expressed his approval with a love heart emoji. One devoted fan reassured Victoria: "Supporting you until the end Love. You are a fabulous mother and an icon."Another quipped: "I hope you all danced the night away to Not Such An Innocent Girl," This comes as Spice Girls enthusiasts rally behind Victoria in an attempt to propel her 2001 solo single to chart-topping status this week. The move is particularly poignant as Victoria remains the only Spice Girl yet to secure a top-selling solo single, and fans are keen to show their support following a challenging week for the Beckhams.Despite keeping a relatively low profile this week, Victoria's sons Cruz and Romeo have been spotted at Paris Fashion Week, reports the Mirror.Romeo, aged 23, didn't let family drama overshadow his big moment as he strutted down the runway at the Willy Chavarria show on Friday, with his girlfriend Kim Turnbull, 24, watching from the front row.Cruz was subsequently spotted entering the same hotel where his brother is lodging in the French city, accompanied by his partner Jackie Apostel. It's been an eventful week for the youngest Beckham sibling following the announcement of his debut tour after his London performance sold out this week. The Beckham family rallied together on social media to celebrate the singer's achievement, with the notable absence of Brooklyn, who declared this week he has no plans to communicate with his family again. The former England football captain declined to respond when questioned directly about his son during a public engagement in Davos, Switzerland, though he acknowledged that parents must allow their children to "make mistakes" on social media.Brooklyn has made numerous allegations concerning his parents, claiming they manipulate press narratives about the family and attempted to "ruin" his marriage to wife Nicola Peltz Beckham.Addressing the family dispute on CNBC's Squawk Box, Sir David commented: "I've always spoke about social media and the power of social media for the good and for the bad. The bad we've talked about with what kids can access these days."It can be dangerous, but what I've found personally, especially with my kids as well. Use it for the right reasons. I've been able to use my platform and my following for Unicef and it's been the biggest tool to make people aware of what's going on around the world for children."I've tried to do the same. I've tried to do the same with my children to educate them. They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That's how they learn. So that's what I try to teach my kids. But you know, you have to sometimes let them make those mistakes as well."In a candid statement, budding chef and photographer Brooklyn revealed he has no intention of "reconciling" with his family. He explained: "I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private."Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed."For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family."The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into."Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they'll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade."But I believe the truth always comes out."The famous couple, dubbed Posh and Becks, are also parents to sons Cruz and Romeo, as well as daughter Harper.Brooklyn alleged that former Spice Girl Lady Beckham "hijacked" his first dance with wife Nicola and danced "inappropriately on me" before their wedding guests, stating he had never experienced such "discomfort or humiliation" in his entire life. He further claimed his wife had faced "disrespected" from his relatives and was excluded from his father's 50th birthday celebration.Brooklyn continued: "My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn't stopped."My mum cancelled making Nicola's dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress."Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife and our future children."They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated."My holdout affected the payday and they have never treated me the same since."During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me 'evil' because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra and Nicola's Nanny at our table, because they both didn't have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours."His statement went on: "Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I've received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders."Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last summer."He went on to say: "My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first."Family 'love' is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it's at the expense of our professional obligations."My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press or manipulation."All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family."Subscribe to our newsletter for the latest news from the Irish Mirror direct to your inbox: Sign up here.
