Haunting last photo of girl, 12, who shot dad before herself in chilling murder pact
A horrific murder scheme involved a 12-year-old girl shooting her own father before tragically taking her own life.Emma Brown shot Daniel Brown, 38, in the stomach at their home in Poolville, Texas in the US on September 20, 2022. Fortunately, he survived the assassination attempt, but his daughter - who shot herself in the head - died two days later in hospital.A disturbing photograph surfaced showing the pair posing together with rifles and handguns amongst a table of ammunition.Shortly after this image was taken, the youngster would execute her twisted scheme, which also involved murdering her entire family and pets.She had devised the killings alongside another 12-year-old girl from Lufkin, Texas, though it remains unclear how they became acquainted. The schoolgirls had plotted to flee together to Georgia.Parker County District Attorney's office confirmed that the unnamed second girl was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, reports the Mirror.A police statement said at time: "Sheriff's deputies were called to a shooting and located a 12-year-old female lying in the street with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head."The juvenile's 38-year-old father was located inside the family's residence with a gunshot wound to the abdomen."Sheriff's CID members discovered during their investigation that the juvenile suspect had planned for several weeks to murder her family and pets and had been in contact with another juvenile female from Lufkin, TX, regarding the murder plot. The other juvenile female had also planned to murder her father, but did not go through with the plan."Brown made her way down her home's driveway several hundred yards after firing at her father - who was legally permitted to keep and sell firearms at his residence - before turning the weapon on herself. It was believed she had been preparing for bed when the tragic events unfolded.An emergency responder who reached the scene was overheard stating, "the daughter just shot him". Following the devastating incident, the family residence reportedly erected a gate at the property's entrance bearing a 'No Trespassing' notice.The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office conducted a post-mortem examination and determined that Brown's cause and manner of death was a suicide by gunshot wound to the head.An earlier police statement confirmed: "The 12-year-old female juvenile involved in the shooting incident in northwestern Parker County on Sept. 20, 2022, succumbed to her injuries on Sept. 22, at a local hospital."Her father, who was the victim of a gunshot wound to the abdomen was recently released from the hospital is expected to recover."The second 12-year-old female from Lufkin, who Sheriff's investigators believe was involved with the planning of the shooting, was taken into custody and has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder."Director for Lufkin, Jessica Pebsworth, stated at the time: "I will say that this case is definitely a time to remind parents that it's very important to know who your children are friends with.
