The Traitors star Jack Butler has revealed his reaction to the dramatic final of the show after ‘seeing red’ and being left ‘absolutely steaming’.
The personal trainer missed out on the £95,750 prize pot to Stephen Libby and Rachel Duffy, who were crowned as the winners of series 4 on Friday.
But despite Jack appearing happy for the treacherous pair, producers were actually forced to calm him down in a moment of anger.
Jack told The Mail on Sunday: ‘The first ten minutes after it happened, I was absolutely steaming.
‘I was so angry and I got pulled into a room with the producers and I was calmed down a little bit,’ he explained.
‘Then I was just looking forward to going home and seeing my partner and my family. It’s like 10 minutes of anger and then you’re like hang on, it’s not actually life or death. Honestly, it’s such a psychological game and you’ve gone through all these weeks of who can I trust?

‘I think Stephen really acted fantastically as like putting on the facade of being a faithful in the earlier episodes. We really clicked and we get on so well.

‘We’re very similar. And I just thought he’s got to be a Faithful because he’s terrified just like me. He doesn’t want to be murdered.’
Despite his moment of anger, Jack was ‘really happy’ that the pair ultimately took home the money.
‘It was only at the end when he turned his slate around with my name. But it’s a testament to how much of a fantastic game he played. And Rachel as well. They were both phenomenal. They absolutely deserved it. I am genuinely really happy for both of them.’
Together, Rachel and Stephen broke records. Rachel is the first female traitor to win, and Stephen is the first LGBTQ+ traitor to win. Better still, it’s the first time two traitors have stuck together to win the show.
Stephen had every chance to throw Rachel under the bus and swipe the entire prize money, but stayed true to his word, leaving them both almost £50,000 richer.
Rachel and Stephen had to sacrifice their closest allies to seal their victory, which made for some very difficult conversations once filming finished.

Rachel weathered two of the most ferocious storms The Traitors has ever seen; first, when fellow traitor Fiona threw a random grenade out of nowhere to accuse her of lying, and then when crime writer Harriet came for her, all guns blazing at the breakfast table.

Stephen had his own bridges to build after the show, too. After bringing two of his closest friends, Jack and Jade, to the final, they were both equally devastated when, out of nowhere, he banished them after building their total trust.]

Stephen told Metro: ‘Jack and Jade were who I was probably the closest with in there, and [who I] had to probably be the most ruthless with in that final episode – it was rough.
‘Afterwards, we did have conversations where they were just saying, “We just felt let down.”
‘Those are absolutely valid feelings, but I did have Jack and his fiancée over at my house, and I made them homemade pasta from scratch.’
