Victoria and David Beckham reflect on ‘great memories’ with Brooklyn after his scathing statement

Earlier this week, the 26-year-old budding chef launched an astonishing takedown of ‘Brand Beckham’, accusing his famous parents of ‘controlling’ him from a young age and ‘disrespecting’ his wife, Nicola Peltz. Brooklyn also accused them of ‘performative social media posts’ and ‘inauthentic relationships’, while alleging that Victoria ‘hijacked’ his first dance with his bride with ‘inappropriate’ behaviour. The explosive series of Instagram Stories further declared that Brooklyn does not wish to ‘reconcile’ with his mum and dad. In the days since, Sir David, 50, and fashion designer Victoria, 51, have remained silent on the matter, except for the football legend’s live TV appearance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, in which he referenced children needing to ‘make their own mistakes’ online. Now, however, the A-list couple has responded warmly to a throwback post shared by a celebrity photographer. Celebrity photographer Platon shared an anecdote about working with the footie legend in 2006 (Picture: Instagram) Brooklyn’s parents left heartfelt comments (Picture: Instagram) This afternoon, Platon shared some snaps from a 2006 shoot, one of which shows a shirtless Sir David with his ‘Brooklyn’ lower back tattoo on full display. His caption recalled the day he travelled to Madrid to shoot ‘one of the world’s biggest superstars’, with the Beckham brood also on set. ‘Victoria arrived with Brooklyn, who was seven years old, Romeo, who was four and Cruz, who was just a baby,’ he wrote. ‘Brooklyn and Romeo charged into the studio wearing football kits, kicking balls, doing headers and other tricks. While Victoria was busy with the children, I started work with David. ‘At one point, Brooklyn ran on set with his football under his arm and hugged his dad’s right leg. Then, Romeo joined his older brother. Then, Victoria also appeared with baby Cruz in her arms. ‘The whole family turned away from us for a private heartfelt group hug. It was a poignant thing to see—this spontaneous moment of affection happening on a giant photography set in front of 60 people.’ ‘Celebrity comes with a heavy price and often it is family members who also pay,’ he added. Shortly after, David and Victoria appeared in the comments, with the former Spice Girls singer writing: ‘Brings back great memories! ❤️’ Pictured here in 2006, a young Brooklyn was often seen at his dad’s games (Picture: Large/Daily Mail/Shutterstock) Wag Victoria was also frequently seen pitchside with Cheryl, who used to be married to Ashley Cole (Picture: Action Press/Shutterstock) ‘Good memories ❤️ @platon’, echoed Sir David. In response, fans of the Beckhams sent ‘love’ their way, with some saying how ‘sad’ they were to witness the once tight-knit unit’s downfall. This follows reports that Posh and Becks would reunite with their eldest son ‘in a minute’, having been left ‘horrified’ by how the rift has developed. The pair – who also have sons Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 14, together – reportedly want to fix their relationship with Brooklyn and are ‘afraid of losing their son’. A source told People: ‘They are a close family, too. Just in a different way than Nicola’s family is. ‘They love Brooklyn and are horrified about everything.’ The budding chef has accused his parents of now ‘disrespecting’ wife Nicola Peltz (Picture: Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images) Brooklyn and Nicola wed in 2022 and have lived in the States since (Picture: Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images) His mum and dad are thought to still be hopeful about a reunion (Picture: Carmen Mandato/Getty Images) However, former photographer Brooklyn has chosen his side, having claimed his mum and dad wanted to ‘ruin’ his relationship with Nicola, 31, since before their 2022 wedding. He further alleged that his mum was due to design Nicola’s bridal gown but pulled out of doing so ‘at the eleventh hour’ before branding her own son ‘evil’ for choosing to include his and her grandmothers on their top table. As for dad David, who celebrated his milestone 50th last year, Brooklyn says that, despite headlines at the time, he and Nicola did, in fact, travel back to the UK to see him. It’s safe to say the Beckham empire has never been more divided, as Brooklyn focuses on his future in the States without his parents or siblings. ‘My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation,’ he concluded in his essay this week. ‘All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.’ Got a story?
