Netflix Poland Unveils 2026 Slate: 12 Upcoming Projects Including ‘The Doll,’ ‘1670’ Season 3, and New Biopics

Picture Credits: Netflix Next on Netflix 2026 (this year dubbed What Next?) kicked off at the beginning of January with the huge slate reveal for both Netflix US, UK, and France – now a couple of weeks later, we’re getting more slate confirmations beginning with Netflix Poland, which has confirmed a dozen titles coming up over the next year.  Following a strong showing in previous years with hits like Heweliusz and Forgotten Love, Netflix is once again showcasing its vast investment in the region. Łukasz Kłuskiewicz, Netflix’s CEE content lead, teased that 2026 is about “variety,” introducing new genres and first-time collaborations with top creators. “This year we aim to surprise our audience with even more variety – including new genres across our Polish original productions and creators with whom we are working for the first time.” Here is the breakdown of the 12 titles announced, categorized by movies, series, and returning titles. New Series From Poland Releasing in 2026 Lead Children Genre: Drama / Based on True Events | Release Date: February 11, 2026 Picture: Netflix Kicking off the slate very soon is Lead Children. Set in 1970s Silesia, the limited series dramatizes the true story of a lead poisoning epidemic. Joanna Kulig (Cold War, The Eddy) stars as a determined doctor fighting a heroic battle against bureaucracy and illness to save children. Anaesthesia (Znieczulenie) Genre: Medical Drama | Release Date: 2026 Marking Netflix’s entry into the medical procedural genre in Poland, Anaesthesia stars Leszek Lichota (who found global fame in Forgotten Love). Lichota plays a brilliant neurosurgeon who, after a failed operation, is ousted from a prestigious clinic. He lands in a small county facility where his arrogance clashes with the locals, but his rule-bending methods might just be what saves lives. The Riot Genre: Thriller / Drama | Release Date: 2026 Inspired by true events from 1989, The Riot depicts the events surrounding Poland’s largest prison riot. The series stars Borys Szyc and Filip Pławiak as former cellmates who must return to the prison in an attempt to stop the bloodshed. Love is Blind: Poland Genre: Reality | Release Date: 2026 The global dating juggernaut is finally landing in Poland. The local edition will be hosted by the power couple Zofia Zborowska-Wrona and Andrzej Wrona, following the standard format of singles trying to find love without ever seeing each other. The Doll (Lalka) Genre: Period Drama | Release Date: 2026 BLACK VOLGA First announced previously, we now have our first look at the ambitious adaptation of Bolesław Prus’ classic novel. Directed by Paweł Maślona (The Scar), the series is set against the backdrop of 19th-century Warsaw. The story follows the complex tension between the wealthy merchant Stanisław Wokulski and the aristocratic Izabela Łącka. Netflix has confirmed the literary duo will be portrayed by Sandra Drzymalska (EO, Sexify) and Tomasz Schuchardt (High Water). New Movies from Poland Releasing in 2026 Revenge Genre: Comedy | Release Date: 2026 In a newly announced project, Netflix is bringing us a comedy about female solidarity with a twist. Starring Vanessa Aleksander (The Office PL) and Izabela Kuna, the film centers on a detective agency run by women specifically to help other women accuse their partners of betrayal. Less of a Stranger Genre: Biopic / Musical | Release Date: 2026 Previously teased as the “Jan Borysewicz project,” Netflix has officially confirmed the title is Less of a Stranger. This biopic takes viewers on a musical journey through the 1980s and 90s, following the life of the charismatic leader of the legendary rock band Lady Pank. It promises a story of rebellion, freedom, and dreams colliding with a restrictive reality. Saint Genre: Thriller / Crime | Release Date: 2026 Acclaimed director Jan P. Matuszyński (Leave No Traces) helms his first project for Netflix. Saint stars Piotr Żurawski as a man recently released from a long prison sentence. Seemingly rehabilitated, he is actually embarking on a calculated path of revenge against those who destroyed his life—only to find that vengeance comes at a high price. New Returning Series and Sequels 1670 (Season 3) Genre: Mockumentary / Comedy | Release Date: 2026 The satirical hit that took Poland by storm is back. 1670 has been renewed for a third season, continuing the misadventures of the noble Adamczewski family. Expect more witty commentary on modern Polish society through the lens of the 17th-century gentry. Mothers of Penguins (Season 2) Genre: Drama / Comedy | Release Date: 2026 Picture Credit: Netflix Following its success in 2024, Mothers of Penguins returns. The cast, including Masza Wągrocka and Magdalena Różczka, will reprise their roles. Season 2 sees the parents leading their own school for children with special needs, where they must battle finances and bureaucracy rather than just enjoying their success. Colours of Evil: Black Genre: Crime Thriller | Release Date: 2026 Picture Credit: Netflix After the success of Colours of Evil: Red, Netflix is adapting the second book in the series. The original debuted in 2024 and spent five weeks in the global top 10s, garnering over 42 million views. Jakub Gierszał will reprise his role as the tenacious Prosecutor Bilski in this dark thriller.  The logline we currently have for the sequel reads, “Investigating the disappearance of children in a remote Polish town, prosecutor Leopold Bilski must unravel a sinister local legend before it’s too late.” It Takes a Village Genre: Comedy | Release Date: 2026 A sequel to the 2024 movie No Pressure, this heartwarming movie returns to the countryside. The story follows the village rallying around Halina, a beloved senior whose wedding is threatened by financial troubles. More countries’ Next on Netflix (What Next?) reveals will be coming throughout this week and into next, with the Nordics confirmed for late January.
