See Major Exhibitions After Hours With Art After Dark

For a week this February, night owl art enjoyers can head to some of the city’s most renowned institutions to view exhibitions outside of regular opening hours as part of the Art After Dark event. The National Gallery, Royal Academy of Arts, and National Portrait Gallery, alongside a selection of independent West End galleries, will keep their doors open until 9pm, granting the public access to headline exhibitions as part of their night out. This will coincide with the display of Rise and Shine, a 7-metre-tall sound system-inspired artwork created by Lakwena Maciver, installed in Piccadilly Circus. The installation, a tower of stacked disco lightboxes, will feature acid kaleidoscopic colours and an 80s & 90s soundtrack referencing hip-hop, drum & bass and more. In keeping with the nightlife theme, there’ll be a programme of late-night events running as part of Art After Dark, including a one-off, after-hours DJ set at The National Gallery on 5th February.London’s best, from top spots to unique perks, with our expert curated tools Dates | Tues 3rd – Tues 10th February 2026Address | Various West End locationsFor more information | artoflondon.co.uk
